777’s Violencia Roja – Best Cocktail Ever

777 Violencia Roja

So we love this cocktail BUT it’s freakin expensive so we decided to recreate it at home.

The pic is pretty crap but I’d had a couple at this stage!

Here’s the recipe… I think we got pretty close…

2 large measures of gin (coz one is never enough)

1½ large measures of jalapeno & rosemary syrup

1½ small measures of fresh lemon juice

3 – 4 dashes of Creole Bitters

To make the syrup:

Add 2 chopped jalapenos and a large sprig of rosemary to 1 cup sugar and 2 cups of water. Heat until the sugar is dissolved and simmer for around 5 mins.  Don’t boil it. Then strain it into a bottle and lash it into the fridge. It will keep for a couple of weeks, so sometimes we make double.

The Creole Bitters might be tricky to find, we got ours here – http://the-bitter-truth.com. They deliver in about a week or so.

Shake with lots of ice and serve.

  1. Will send to himself as a link – I cannot do jalapeño at all, it doesn’t like me.
