Had to post this as it’s a beautiful, heartbreaking story. It’s had me smiling and crying all at the same time…
Ouch. Very much ouch. I can’t talk about my Good Dog still, years later, but I did give him a good send off, too.
All that matters is that he knows he was loved. Was sitting at my desk in tears watching this. Our dogs are still very young so can’t imagine having to say goodbye.
Especially when they can still smile at you like that. Mine could.
I know. Sometimes they seem so human.
Don’t think love and friendship knows species boundaries – seen so many wonderful moments between my animals over the years I can’t help but think they do love. And a dog? Especially easy to tell when they are joyful, isn’t it!
The waggly tails and big grins tend to give them away. And I sometimes think a dogs love is more true and unconditional than a humans. And they are much more forgiving.
Better than human 🙂
True. We could learn a lot from them.
Oh – how sad. What a wonderful way to spend the last moments with him.
Yes. He seemed so happy and had a wonderful family who loved him very much.
Now the guy in the cubicle next to me is wondering why I have dewy eyes…
He must think that I spent the rent on Argentina winning the world cup…
Great photo story of a very special day
I also made the mistake of reading this in work. HR thought I was having a breakdown!!
